Gone are the days of washing with a simple bucket, sponge, and some dish soap on a Sunday morning. Technology has progressed in leaps and bounds in recent years, and the auto-care industry has stayed right on pace with it! Waterless washes are one of many new products that streamline the task of car care - and they do it while giving our rides the top-quality treatment that was previously the reserve of pro-level detailing jobs.

Waterless washes, otherwise known as “quick detailers'', are an all-in-one solution to quick car cleaning. One bottle contains a combination of cleaning agents, lubricants, and anti-streak formulas that will lift dirt and grime off your vehicle’s surface after just spraying the detailer on and wiping it away. No mess, no streaks, just a clean car and time to spare.

Why Waterless Car Wash Products Are Great (The Use Cases)

We all want to save time. So, any product that cuts down the hours we spend cleaning our ride is a winner! The philosophy behind waterless detailers is to do exactly that: give all of us car owners an alternative to time-consuming water washes.

Regardless of our car’s color, we’ve all experienced how quickly a beautiful, freshly cleaned car can attract dirt. However, anyone who owns a black vehicle will be especially familiar with it!

We used to have two choices once that muck settled: first, give the car another water wash. The whole deal - two buckets, grit guards, water, shampoo, mitts, towels. Everything. Or second, leave it dirty until enough time had passed until we felt we hadn’t wasted our time with the first wash!

With waterless detailers, you no longer have to make that decision. Waterless detailers give you the option to give your ride a proper clean in just a few minutes and with an absolute minimum of mess. This means your ride will always look box-fresh and that you’ll have more time to enjoy driving it!

But it isn’t just the time that’s a factor. Convenience and accessibility also play a massive role.

We’ve all been there - we’re out on a drive, enjoying the knowledge of how good our car looks, when a bird drops a number two right there on the hood or a rogue mud puddle splashes dirt up the side skirts. In the old days, this would mean an emergency trip to the car wash - one that would have been both expensive and risk damaging our paint. Alternatively, we’d have to wait until we got home. However, leaving that dirt to sit for hours is a surefire way to maximize damage to the paint.

But with a waterless detailer, we can deal with the problem right then and there! A bottle will easily fit into a glove box or storage bin so that you’re never caught without it. A few quick sprays and a wipe will get rid of that dirt and have your ride looking brand new! What’s more, a good waterless detailer will also have sealant and hydrophobic properties, forming an invisible layer that repels dirt and water and shields against future damage.

How Often Should You Do a Car Wash Without Water?

As with regular washing, this depends on your specific situation. Road conditions, weather, and distances traveled all make a huge difference. However, let’s assume that we drive for half an hour each day in normal conditions. In this case, a clean once per week with a waterless detailer would be ideal. This will be enough to stop that layer of daily grime from bonding to your paintwork as well as prevent contaminants from getting a foothold in your clear coat and plastics.

Of course, the beauty of a waterless detailer is that, if you notice your ride is getting dirty more quickly, it’s easy to use frequently. That convenience of use gives you the upper hand in the fight against damage and decay. The time commitment required to stay on top of bodywork maintenance just got slashed to a fraction of what it was before!

How To Wash Your Car Without Water (Our Favorite Method)

Here’s what you need to do to give your ride a proper waterless wash. Keep reading for the full equipment list and a step-by-step guide on using a waterless detailer.

For equipment, all you need is:

  1. A couple of microfiber towels: Check out the microfiber towels we use here. Just don’t be tempted to use non-microfiber towels, as they will leave ugly swirl marks in your paint!
  2. Torque Detail Turbo Waterless Detailer: We are incredibly proud to put our name on this product and say that it is, hands down, the best waterless wash on the market. Its cleaning properties are second to none, but the special part is what’s left behind after the cleaning is done. It will help to repel dirt and water long after you’ve gotten back into the driver’s seat!

The method: Welcome to the shortest ‘how-to’ section ever!

  • Assuming we want to give the whole car a clean, start from the top of the vehicle. Working one panel at a time, give it a few good sprays with Turbo Waterless Detailer, and let it sit for just 10 seconds. This will allow it to absorb into any tougher dirt.
  • Take a clean microfiber cloth/towel, fold it into a square, and gently wipe the Waterless Detailer away. Avoid using any excess pressure, as this can scrape grit and grains across your paint.
  • Take a fresh section of towel and simply repeat the process on the next part of the panel.
  • When you’ve finished the panel, you can take a fresh towel and give it a quick buff to enhance the shine. This isn’t like buffing a carnauba wax - just one or two light passes will do the trick!

And that’s it! You can just repeat that same process for painted panels, glass, and plastic trim anywhere on the car. No special methods, no bizarre techniques!

Benefits Of Using An Anti-Static Detailer (Waterless Wash)

Turbo Waterless Detailer’s anti-static properties are one of its greatest benefits. Just through daily use, our cars pick up a light static charge. We’ve all seen how static can attract dirt or hair to an item of clothing. It works the same way for our cars - they’re quite literally dirt magnets!

What Turbo Waterless Detailer does is neutralize that static charge. Dust, in particular, is very sensitive to static. You would be amazed how much cleaner you can keep your ride just by neutralizing this electricity!

Fast And Effective

We call it ‘Turbo’ for a reason! There’s simply no quicker way to take your ride from grimy to gleaming than with Turbo Waterless Detailer. And with its convenient spray bottle, you always have it on hand to deal with dirt and grime in real-time.

Usable On Different Materials

Unlike some similar products, Turbo Waterless Detailer is safe on any exterior surface - plastics, paints, glass, you name it. No more worrying if you overspray from a painted panel onto plastic trim or remembering to carry multiple cleaning bottles. This is one bottle to get the entire job done!

High-Gloss Shine

The practicalities are the reason to buy it, but this is the part we love! Instead of slowly cleaning away your wax or ceramic coating, Turbo Waterless Detailer will enhance it. It doesn’t just leave the surface clean - it actively deepens the shine and protection of your wax or ceramic coat. That means you can have full confidence that your ride not only looks its best, but also has a proper protective coating that you can rely on!

Repels Dirt And Rain

Rain brings dirt with it. Lots of dirt. Dust and grit all get caught up in the water, and if you allow that water to sit on your bodywork, that grime will find a home there too. At best, your ride is going to look filthy. At worst, acid rain and contaminants can eat into your clear coat and corrode your metals.

The water-repelling (hydrophobic) properties of Turbo Waterless Detailer ensure that, instead of sitting on panels, water will sheet off and carry that grime away with it.
